Tundra Esports roar back into the Dota 2 scence with the Team Undying roster

The TI11 winning organization Tundra Esports is back in the Dota 2 scene after picking up the Team Undying roster, which recently parted ways with TSM.

Tundra Esports had a rough year after winning TI11. The 2022-2023 Dota 2 season did not go as intended for them. At the end, the roster ended up going their separate ways, leaving the organization with no team for a few weeks.

As we head into the first tournament of the 2023-2024 season (ESL One Kuala Lumpur), Tundra have announced their new roster. It is basically the old TSM roster, which went back to the Team Undying tag after parting ways with TSM.

The new Tundra Esports roster will be put to the test right away as ESL One Kuala Lumpur begins tomorrow, on the 11th of October 2023. This roster qualified for the tournament through North America, but with the switch in organization, they will now be playing from Western Europe for the rest of the season.

Last year, a good team had already left North America when Quincy Crew disbanded. TSM were the only team that could face up to Shopify Rebellion, although nouns will have a case to make after their TI12 performance. But with the old TSM roster out of NA, the region will fall further behind in terms of good Dota 2 teams competing to raise the overall level. No wonder Tundra Esports’ coach David “MoonMeander” Tan put out an obituary for NA Dota 2 a couple of weeks ago.

The big question is, will this roster be able to compete against the elite squads that Western Europe houses? It will be challenging for sure. But that is also bound to bring in the best out of the players. Their performance in Kuala Lumpur will be an early indication of what can be expected.
